Xero and Shopify have joined forces to launch an integration feature, enabling small goods-based businesses to start streamlining their accounts management.
As of the 11th of November 2021, Xero has announced this new feature application is available to its customers.
The global small business platform and its partnership with Shopify includes joining their Shopify Plus Certified App Program (PCAP), a diverse group of designers, developers, marketers, and affiliates who use the Shopify platform to build ecommerce websites, themes, and apps. This will offer their partners great ways to grow their business and generate ongoing monthly revenue.
This new feature is a leap forward in solving common customer pain points and driving action to help ecommerce sellers get started and grow their business.
Nick Houldsworth, Xero’s EGM Ecosystem, said “by partnering with Shopify we aim to support our small business community to not only weather tough economic conditions, but manage and grow their businesses via one of the world’s largest ecommerce platforms. This, in turn, enables them to enhance their own customers’ online shopping experience.”
How to connect the apps
The new Xero & Shopify integration is now available globally in both the Shopify App Store and the new Xero App Store. This will also enable Shopify’s current 1.7 million (and growing) merchants to discover Xero’s global small business platform, while also giving Xero customers access to Shopify’s product using the Xero App Store’s new subscription tools and one-click sign-up (where available by region).
How it works
Xero’s suite of accounting tools allows merchants to spend less time tallying order information, and more time growing their business and brand. Until today, Shopify merchants using Xero needed to manually copy their sales data from one service to another, but with the new Xero App for Shopify, they can now seamlessly export their product, payment, tax, and customer data with a single click, saving hours of manual data entry each and every week. Tax filing and support is available worldwide, so merchants around the globe can start taking advantage of seamless reporting once they’ve connected the apps.
“The Shopify Plus Certified App Program is designed to meet the advanced requirements of the world’s fastest-growing brands,” said Mark Bergen, VP Revenue, Shopify. “We’re happy to welcome Xero to the program, bringing their insight and experience in accounting and finance to the Plus merchant community.”
Xero & Shopify Integration app features:
-
Faster, more accurate data. Know how much revenue and profit is being made each day. Xero will automatically show Shopify sales on a daily basis, along with a breakdown of costs – enabling it’s users to clearly see how much profit they’ve made.
-
Shopify reconciliation in just a few clicks. No more manual data entry. The integration is designed to help save time on admin by automatically sending Shopify sales transactions to Xero for easy reconciliation against bank data.
-
Easily track cash flow. Get an overview of your business performance in real-time with the Xero dashboard. Users can view long and short term cash flow forecasts and use up-to-date insights to make fast and informed business decisions, from anywhere.
Xero’s big plans for Ecommerce
With E-Commerce booming, and set to continue growing globally, Xero is definitely recognising its small business users needs, and the growing demands for their customers.
In addition to this new partnership, Xero has also recently acquired a new cloud-based inventory management system, LOCATE Inventory, to further enhance its local offering for small goods based businesses. No doubt, the ever-popular accounting software will continue to develop its local offering as demands change. Read about it here
